Online Tracking

Online Tracking

Online tracking is the practice of collecting data about a user’s online activity, such as the websites they visit, the pages they view, and the products they purchase. This data can be used to target advertising, improve user experience, and track user behavior.

This research project will examine the methods used to track users online, and will explore ways to minimize the privacy harm that can result from online tracking. The project will use a mixed-methods approach, including a literature review, a survey of the public, and interviews with industry experts.

The project is expected to address the following research questions:

What are the different methods used to track users online? How can the privacy harm from online tracking be minimized? What are the public’s attitudes towards online tracking? What are the ethical implications of online tracking? The findings of this project will help to inform the public about the methods used to track users online, and the ways in which privacy harm can be minimized. The findings of the project will also be of interest to businesses and policymakers, who are responsible for developing policies that protect user privacy.
